Agnieszka Podwin is a PhD student at the Division of Microengineering and Photovoltaics. She graduated from Mechatronics with Bachelor degree (2014) and received the Master degree in Electronics and Telecommunication in 2015. Her PhD research covers the aspects of lab-on-a-chip technology dedicated to bio-based applications. It focuses on the development of universal, micro-engineered microfluidic platforms for culturing of microbial objects. It is strictly connected with an investigation of microorganisms biological potential in the lab-on-a-chip devices as well. Her present works comprise mainly technological studies of glass and polymer chips, in which both – the culture and responses to external stimuli of different biological objects are investigated.
